St. Dunstan’s Worship Services

Sundays and Wednesdays

St. Dunstan’s opens its doors for worship services on Sundays at 8 a.m (Rite I) and 10 a.m. (Rite II) and on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. for Holy Eucharist and a healing service.

Spoken-Word Rite l

The spoken-word Rite I service is faithfully attended by a small group of parishioners who love the peace of early morning.

Rite ll

The Rite II service, with choir, organ and piano (and often other instruments and guest artists) draws larger numbers and more families with youngsters.  Our average Sunday attendance is 146.

A High Value Placed on Our Music Program

Over the years, parishioner comment has reinforced the high value placed on the music program. St. Dunstan’s has magnificent talent manifested in the way each service is designed musically and the way voices and instruments are matched to the moment.  The congregation embraces singing from the hymnal and is enthusiastic about the variety of music offered by the choir and soloists, drawn from different genres and traditions.

The church hosts “Music at St. Dunstan’s,” an annual organ concert series with guest artists so the larger community can experience wonderful music in our sanctuary.

Liturgical Participation

The quiet beauty of our worship is further expressed through the devotion of Altar Guild members, who dress the Lord’s table and care for the sacred space around it, and the verger, lay eucharistic ministers, and acolytes who reverently carry out liturgical tasks.

Monthly Potluck and Music on Fridays

Believing in flexibility about where and when “church” happens, St. Dunstan’s instituted “Common Thread,” a monthly Friday evening worship service with live music and a potluck meal.

Agape Meals for Adults in Their 20s and 30s

Similarly, St. Dunstan’s parishioners periodically host Agape Meals, gatherings for adults in their 20s and 30s across the Diocese of El Camino Real, offering community, cooking, and conversation.

Wednesday Holy Eucharist for Seniors

On Wednesdays, Holy Eucharist is celebrated with communicants at Carmel Valley Manor, a senior residential community a few miles from St. Dunstan’s.
