St. Dunstan’s is a growing, active and gregarious Episcopal parish in the Diocese of El Camino Real within the worldwide Anglican Communion. We are located on the spectacularly beautiful coast of central California…
Compassion is a hallmark of St. Dunstan’s. A quick look at the real-time calendar on St. Dunstan’s web site (stdcv.org) reveals a parish that is working tirelessly to meet the needs of the community as well as parishioners.
Dreams for St. Dunstan’s: At the bend in the road, we hope to encounter the priest who embodies the qualities and talents vital to helping St. Dunstan’s continue to thrive and grow, keeping Christ at the center of all we do.
We are at a bend in the road, a curve in the path we travel as a faith community. We are moving forward optimistically and, understandably, with the collective concern a parish feels at times of transition, when the decision about whom to call as our next rector will soon be before us. We hope that person is reading these words.
In a poignant rite of passage, a pastoral relationship of nearly 10 years concluded with The Rev. Robert Fisher’s acceptance of a call to St. John’s, Lafayette Square, in Washington, DC. Rob departed St. Dunstan’s in June 2019, carrying with him our fond wishes for the success of his ministry in our nation’s capital.
The bend in the road provides an opportunity to look at our altered spiritual landscape from a new perspective and apply what we learn from that experience. Toward that end, the parishioners of St. Dunstan met on four consecutive Sundays in July and August for conversations about our future. Members of the parish also completed a detailed survey, which encouraged open-ended comments. The input from those face-to-face sessions and from the survey are incorporated throughout this web site to fully reflect and honor the thoughts of St. Dunstan’s faithful.
We invite you into our site to explore St. Dunstan’s as you move through your discernment journey, rounding the bend in your own road, and perhaps, meeting us at the turn.
